Community Development Summer Intern - LA Galaxy (Carson, CA)

Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“AEG”) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. AEG owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and Home Depot Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and AEG LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotions and touring companies. AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.

The LA Galaxy Community Development department and the LA Galaxy Foundation are seeking interns for the 2013 Major League Soccer Season. This is an unpaid internship and all candidates must receive school credit.


Description of Responsibilities:
- Assist with all game day events and activities, including but not limited to: supervising Galaxy Foundation silent auctions and distribution of Kicks for Kids tickets
- Support Community Development programs, events and appearances, i.e. Galaxy Drive Series
- Aid in the implementation of all LA Galaxy Foundation events and fundraisers, i.e. Easter Egg Hunt, Camps for Kids, Day on the Links Golf Outing, Foundations’ Feast, Holiday Assist Program, etc.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays, i.e. 4th of July
- Must commit to work all 2013 Galaxy home games, i.e. Playoff games, Open Cup, Bonus Games plus Galaxy Foundation fundraisers and special events
- Commit to 2 office days a week
- Excellent writing, telephone, and communication and inter-personal skills
- Reliable transportation
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Non-essential Job Functions:
- In addition to performing the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by Supervisor.
- Assist other Galaxy departments as needed
- Inventory of department items and signage
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Must be enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university and receive course credit for the duration of the internship

Database Marketing Intern - LA Galaxy (Carson, CA)

The Database Marketing Internship Program will consist of assisting the database marketing coordinator with the execution and analysis of email marketing campaigns, CRM database management, and lead generation. Position also includes other day of game responsibilities.


Essential Job Functions:
• Assist database marketing coordinator with reporting and analysis on email marketing and direct sales campaigns
• Conduct various lead generation projects through ticketing data and other sources
• Assist in managing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
• Other various data analysis projects

Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Interest or experience in data analysis
• Interest or experience in email marketing
• Experience with CRM or Marketing Automation software is preferred
• Highly motivated, with a positive attitude
• Enthusiasm for and/or experience in professional sports industry
• Thoroughness and attention to detail

Preferred Education:

Either Bachelor’s or Masters’ student majoring in Business Management, Sports Management, Information Technology or related major.

Other:
• Current enrollment in college or university is required; you must be able to furnish proof from your college or university that you will receive credit for this internship

Sales and Service Intern - LA Kings (El Segundo, CA)

Fan Development Intern

Essential Job Functions: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Assist Fan Development Department with grassroots sales initiatives and hockey growth programs
• Run Fan Development Game Day Program Sales Fundraising Program
• Assist with Game Day Fan Development hockey programs at STAPLES Center
• Coordinate Program Sales Fundraiser
• Assist with grassroots marketing of hockey programs and sales initiatives
• Track sales numbers and hockey program participation

Los Angeles Kings & Los Angeles Galaxy
 
The Game Presentation and Events Marketing Intern will enhance their education by working under the direct supervision of and learning from the management staff of the Los Angeles Kings/Los Angeles Galaxy Game Entertainment Department. The intern will assist in the development, coordination and implementation of all aspects of the game presentation program.

Position Responsibilities:

• Use the Los Angeles Kings/Los Angeles Galaxy internship as an avenue to learn and improve marketing and communication skills.
• Assist the Department in Game Night preparation, including working with part time Kings and Galaxy staff.
• Assist the Sr. Director, Game Presentation and Events, the Game Presentation and Events Sr. Manager, the Game Presentation and Events Supervisor, and the Game Presentation and Events Coordinator with event marketing, promotion, and execution.
• Lend support to others within the Game Presentation and Events Department.

Additional Skills Desired:

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point in particular
- Marketing, promotions, and/or sales experience is a plus

Program Requirements:

All Interns must be eligible to receive college/university credit for their time served. This internship is unpaid. Intern must be able to attend Kings and Galaxy home games during evenings and weekends
