Event Officer - Special Services / Security - AEG - Oracle Arena & Oakland/Alameda County Coliseum (Oakland, CA)

Job Summary: Event Officers are responsible for the safety & security of AEG patrons, employees, and the assets.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts a variety of duties including identifying prohibited items through screening or bag searches and preventing those objects from being brought into the facility.
  • Conducts screening using metal detectors, wanding and/or pat down searches.
  • Conduct patrols of the facilities and parking lots.
  • Respond to all security & safety related calls in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit exemplary conduct & appearance while on duty.
  • Comply with & adhere to all the department’s performance, conduct, & attendance standards.
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without the loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Comply with all legal & ethical instructions given by the Security Supervisors on duty & the Director of Security and Security Manager.
  • Investigate & compile accurate incident reports.
  • Complete all assigned tasks within the guidelines & deadlines set by the Security Supervisors and/or the Directors of Security and Security Manager.
  • Interact with AEG patrons, vendors, & employees in a courteous & professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, employment verification, and post-offer drug screening test.
  • An understanding of the rule of law & the relevant penal codes.
  • Ability to represent the Security Department in an exemplary manner.

Facility Operations: Usher/Ticket Taker
Usher - Oracle Arena & Oakland/Alameda Coliseum (Oakland, CA)

The usher position has the most interaction with our guests during events, and as such must provide excellent customer service and exceed our guests’ expectations. The usher position is responsible for properly checking guests’ tickets as they enter the seating areas, concourses, and other areas of the facility. The usher must properly direct guests to their seats, and to other services around the facility including restrooms, concessions, first-aid, and other event-specific locations as directed by the Event Manager. The usher is responsible for their assigned area, and is charged with observing that all guests in their area are following all policies and code of conduct requirements. The usher is also responsible for providing general assistance and customer service to guests as needed, in a friendly and helpful manner. This is a part-time, hourly, event-based position.

Job Description
• Greet and interact with all guests in a welcoming and friendly manner.
• Check guest’s ticket, and ensure the guest is in the proper seating section.
• Direct guests to their ticketed seats, or to the appropriate seating section.
• Ensure that only guests with the proper ticket are sitting in assigned section. 
• Monitor seating area for guests who may not be in correct area.
• Keep aisles, concourses, and stairs clear of guests while event is in progress.
• Answer guest questions with regard to event and facility, e.g. location of particular section, restrooms, concession stand, first-aid, etc.
• Handle complaints, disturbances, or related problems with guests. Forward complaint to supervisor or Event Manager as applicable.

• Inspect assigned work area prior to and during event, looking for safety hazards, facility issues, housekeeping needs, personal injuries, etc. Report issues to supervisor or Event Manager.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Event Manager.

Overview:

Serves as a liaison between guests and Oakland/Alameda County Coliseum to ensure that our guest’s expectations are not only met, but exceeded, every time they come to all events here at AEG Oakland. Guest Service Representatives ensure all guests receive an industry leading guest service experience by being knowledgeable of the property, upcoming events and working closely with various AEG departments.

Job Description:

Job Summary:
The Event Representative will be responsible for monitoring events and ensuring that the guests have an enjoyable experience while maintaining the policies and guidelines of Oracle Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Event Representatives will have dual responsibility working with guests and staff on event days.

Essential Functions:
• Oversee a portion of the Arena and Stadium and respond to any situations within assigned area. For example: ticket issues, ADA relocations, guest complaints, etc. 
• Handle complaints, disturbances, or related problems with guests and staff when applicable 
• Respond to guest concerns in a respectful and calm manner
• Provide staff briefings at the beginning of each event to assist with employee compliance of AEG policies/procedures 
• Ensure non-smoking policy, and other public safety concerns are responsibly handled both internally and externally
• Understanding of the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum and Oracle Arena layout and policies and procedures 
• Document any problems or issues that arise during the event
• Communicate guest and management issues/concerns over a radio
• Assist with Arena and Stadium set-up procedures; including: opening and locking/unlocking gates, checking elevators, delivering documents and equipment, etc.
• Assist management in executing emergency procedures if necessary 
• Work closely with the Event Manager as needed

Required Qualifications:
• A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred)
• 2-4 years of related experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong in-person customer services experience.

Facility Operations: Event/Venue Booking
VP Booking - Oracle Arena and Oakland/Alameda County Coliseum (Oakland, CA)

The Vice President, Booking will serve as the principal contact with all of AEG’s North American Facilities booking and content development teams while also acting as the main booking contact for Oracle Arena. Responsible for sourcing, pitching, negotiating and securing live event content, including talent buying for co-promotional or venue-promoted events.

Responsibilities:

AEG FACILITIES EVENT BOOKING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:

  • Serves as the principal contact with all of AEG’s North American Facilities booking and content development teams while also acting as the main booking contact for Oracle Arena.
  • Acts as liaison between agencies and promoters on the one hand and AEG Facilities on the other.
  • Works to aggressively promote the use of the facilities to maximize utilization and negotiates content agreements.
  • Interfaces with promoters, talent booking and marketing teams for all AEG Facilities venues to coordinate booking schedules, artist relationships, and ticket sales planning and event settlements.
  • Provides input on branding and marketing efforts, including sales collateral and show related marketing
  • Participates in the determination of event specific event staffing requirements
  • Develops and pursues new events for venues, including but not limited to new touring events and types not currently hosted at the arena. An emphasis is placed on creating new, unique events for the arena, including local, regional, national, and international sporting events, concerts, comedy, family entertainment and special events
  • Hosts regular meetings and conference calls with venue bookers to ensure optimal performance and results and ensures companywide strategies are adhered to.

ORACLE ARENA BOOKING:

  • Responsible for sourcing, pitching, negotiating and securing live event content, including talent buying for co-promotional or venue-promoted events.
  • Build relationships with local established and alternative promoters.
  • Oversees development of the venue’s annual event calendars, activity schedules, dates and hours of event operations, projections for attendance and revenue
  • Implements and monitors a detailed program budget; supervises cost accounting required of events to include facility rental, ancillary revenue streams, and event related expenses upon advisement of the GM.
  • Assists with the preparation and maintenance of any required and necessary reports/records for the client and/or AEG Facilities.Manages the venue license agreement process to execution for each show including promoter specific language, deal, insurance requirements and other negotiated deal points.

 ADMINISTRATION:

  • Assists with the development, coordination, implementation and administration of specific plans, programs and policies as deemed necessary and/or prescribed by company directives.
  • Provides or coordinates timely and effective response to directives and requests received from internal and external organizations, agencies, departments and individuals; assures and maintains integrity of the arena, client, division and the corporation in all forms of communication and personal contacts

Qualifications:

  • A minimum education level of:   BA/BS Degree (4-year) (Advanced Degree Preferred)    
  • A minimum of 10+ years of related work experience in booking/event creation or successful promotion experience or equivalent
  • Must have experience working with sports, entertainment and corporate organizations to attract and develop events at an arena or comparable facility
  • Must have proven history of leadership abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word); and ability to learn all required business systems
  • Solid experience leading, mentoring and coaching productive teams
  • Must have proven track record of developing and managing budgets
  • Must have proven history of negotiating complex and diverse content agreements.
  • Must have working knowledge of tour routing policies and practices
  • Must have event sales & marketing experience
  • Must be a self-starter and have ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of the operation of a major NHL and NBA arenas, and/or NFL stadiums strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of event and box office operations strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of food and beverage operations and revenue streams strongly preferred

Summary
Maintains all facility equipment in good working condition, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical plants; lighting and climate control systems; roofing systems; ground support equipment, maintenance/cleaning equipment by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Repairs and maintains all facility systems and equipment employing various techniques including welding and soldering
• Inspects systems throughout facility to detect malfunctions or breakdowns
• Investigates malfunctions or breakdowns of systems to diagnose causes and locate the source of the problem
• Implements corrective actions and solutions
• Anticipates potential malfunctions or breakdowns and takes appropriate action to prevent or minimize curtailment of services

Qualifications
• Education and/or Experience: Graduate of an accredited technical school or apprenticeship program
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with HVAC equipment

Job Summary:
The Manager of Parking Operations oversees the daily operations of the parking department for the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum and Oracle Arena campus. The incumbent will also manage the relationship with the 3rd party parking contractor.

Facility Operations: Maintenance
Maintenance Manager - Oracle Arena and Oakland/Alameda County Coliseum (Oakland, CA)

Oracle Arena & Oakland/Alameda County Coliseum are AEG Facilities-managed venues and Northern California's premiere sports and entertainment venues home to the Oakland Athletics (MLB), Oakland Raiders (NFL) and Golden State Warriors (NBA). The Manager Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the cleaning and custodial care of the interior and exterior of a multi-purpose arena and stadium, responsible for providing a safe, clean facility before, during, and after all events including but not limited to restrooms, offices, lobbies, entryways, storage, back of house, locker rooms, and loading dock, manage and supervise a crew up to 80 people.

Essential Duties: 
• Oversight and supervision of staff who perform daily cleaning and custodial care for the entire Arena & Stadium
• Direct, train, and educate staff on the safe handling practices with equipment, chemicals, and procedures
• Maintain accurate time keeping for all staff in the department
• Ensure changeovers, event set-up, maintenance tasks are completed by working closely with conversion and Operations staff 
• Schedule daily staff and plan for upcoming staffing needs for all events 
• Monitor expenses and order supplies as necessary 
• Work with other departments to make sure all needs are met both with event and non-event days
• Monitor and ensure all policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed by maintenance staff in daily work routines
• In addition to the major purpose and tasks of the job, this position will be required to perform a combination of supportive functions solely determined by the Director and/or General Manager of the facility.

Required Qualifications 
• A minimum education level of High School Diploma or its equivalency (some college course work preferred) 
• Years of related work experience: 5 years of experience in public facilities (arena, convention center, hotels, or similar) 
• Must have the ability to work flexible hours including long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Adheres to OSHA requirements 
• Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring staff
• Ability to supervise and train staff with the safe practices in custodial cleaning
• Working knowledge of custodial and cleaning equipment 
• Knowledge of budget preparation and monitoring spending 
• Must have the ability in planning, coordinating, and establishing priorities
• Above average written, verbal and computer skills
